KOICA holds seminar for workers on SDGs tomorrow
The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) will tomorrow hold a one-day seminar for various government agencies’ staff towards the attainment of the new United Nations set of target, known as Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The seminar, which draws ex participants of the KOICA’s Capacity Improvement and Advancement for Tomorrow (CIAT) trainings, will also involve meeting of the KOICA Alumni Association of Nigeria (KAAN) to brainstorm on areas of development for Nigeria.
The event, scheduled to hold in Abuja, has the objective of sharing important technical skills and know-how, as well as to build capacities for sustainable socio-economic development.
The agency, in a statement yesterday, explained that part of what the seminar will dwell on include sharing Korean development experiences and proffer ways of replicating same in Nigeria.
The statement added that tomorrow’s seminar and alumni gathering has the theme of “Moving towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Lessons Learnt from the Case of the Republic of Korea.”
The event according to the statement, shall contribute in strengthening bilateral relations between the people of the Republic of Korea (South Korea) and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Participants from various Nigeria Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) including; National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), National Planning Commission (NPC), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Budget Office of the Federation, and Senior Judges from the Judiciary would discuss on “Lessons Learnt from Korea with a focus on: Vocational Training Policy, Economic Development Strategy and Judicial Development, respectively.
