If Obasanjo Couldn't Stop Us, Who Is Buhari - MASSOB

Members of Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, (MASSOB) have said President Muhammadu Buhari cannot stop them from existing.
Speaking with journalist in Onitsha on Tuesday, September 15, the group’s deputy director of information, Mazi Chris Mocha said if Olusegun Obasnjo who hated Ndigbo could not stop them during his eight year administration, neither can Buhari.
Mocha said even if the president sends the entire security operatives in the country to the South-East and South-South geo-political zones, the group would not rest until they actualize a sovereign state of Biafra, Daily Sun reports.
Mocha decried the harassment of its members by security agents, saying they barricaded the road leading to Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Memorial Library in Owerri, Imo State with Armoured Personel Carrier (APC) in a bid to stop their meeting.
Our leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, who wanted to preside over the executive meeting had to put it off, citing security reason and to avoid casualty on the side of MASSOB,” he said.
According to Mocha, the actions of the federal government were an act of cowardice as MASSOB was non-violent organisation fighting to actualise a Biafra Republic.
On his part, the Nnewi South regional administrator, Mr. Tony Nwodo said the group’s struggle would be forward ever and backward never.
Nwodo called on  the international community, including America, to come to the rescue of MASSOB and resue the Igbo nation from the federal government’s marginalization.
MASSOB is a secessionist movement agitating for a Republic of Biafra, comprising the South-East and South-South regions of Nigeria. They launched the Biafran passport in 2009 as part of the program to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
The Nigerian government has been trying to curb the activities of the group. In July, t. A few hours later, the radio station was still blaring its message in at least one location in the South East — Nnewi, Anambra state, saying they cannot be stopped. Some weeks later, .
But there seems to be no end to group’s agitation for Biafra. The group celebrated its 16-years anniversary on Sunday, September 13.
