‘Naked Driver’ Will Undergo Psychiatric Test - FRSC
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has said that the commercial taxi driver who stripped naked while trying to avoid arrest yesterday, September 2, will be made to undergo a psychiatric test before being prosecuted.
The corps also confirmed the arrest of the suspect in Calabar, the Cross River state capital.
The driver had on Tuesday stripped naked when some officials of the FRSC demanded his vehicle particulars along the busy Marian Road.
The sector commander said the command had gone through its database to establish the authenticity of the driving's licence and vehicle particulars and discovered that they were not genuine.
the commander said the driver would first be taken to the psychiatric hospital in Calabar to establish his mental state before further prosecution.
He said: “His driving licence and vehicle particulars are not genuine. We will take him to the psychiatric hospital here in Calabar to find out if he is a normal person because no person in his right senses will strip just anyhow.”
Cases of commercial drivers stripping naked to avoid arrest is not new as there have been cases of such incidents across the country.
